Official Rules & Regulations

You are responsible for reading these official rules and regulations. The Grand Prize Drawing will be held on Monday, July 1, 2019.

The drawing is limited to a maximum of 2,999 entrants. The odds of winning depend on the number of tickets sold. The Chicago Mikvah Association (CMA) reserves the right to cancel this drawing if less than 1,000 tickets are sold and refund all tickets.

The Grand Prize winner will choose to receive either (1) his or her choice of a $50,000 educational scholarship that can be used to pay private school tuition for any K-12 schools, colleges or universities, camp fees and student loans for any school located and accredited in the U.S. or Israel (collectively, the “School”) (2) an “Alternate Grand Prize” of a certified check in the amount of $30,000 USD.

To claim either prize, the winner must present a valid government ID and social security number (or equivalent thereof) and or any other tax information needed  The Grand Prize will be paid directly to the School selected by the Grand Prize Winner, although the Grand Prize may, at CMA’s sole discretion, be distributed directly to the Grand Prize Winner or the intended recipient if CMA deems such a distribution necessary. The Grand Prize can be used to satisfy tuition or School fees for up to four students, however, the student(s) must be named by the Grand Prize winner within four years of drawing. The Grand Prize Winner may designate self, relatives or friends to receive the tuition prize. However, such designees can only receive the tuition prize upon his/her/their execution of all necessary waivers and tax documents.

To claim the Alternative Grand Prize, the winner must present a Government issued I.D. and Social Security number (or the equivalent thereof) and other tax information as requested by CMA.

All taxes, including all federal, state, local, sales, withholding tax and any other taxes or government fees of any type whatsoever are the sole responsibility of the Grand Prize winner and/or those who have received the tuition prize. All other fees and or ancillary costs associated with the School that is not explicitly stated herein are the Grand Prize winner’s sole responsibility. Grand Prize winner is encouraged to consult with a tax advisor or specialist to determine tax consequences of Grand Prize selection. Sponsor is not responsible for any costs related costs or fees and makes no representations or warranties regarding the services provided by any of the Schools who receive the tuition prize. CMA, at its sole discretion, may permit the Grand Prize winner to withhold certain amounts from the Grand Prize or Alternative Grand Prize to cover any tax liabilities associated with this raffle.

Rules subject to change at any time and at CMA’s sole discretion. Winners consent to the use of their names, likenesses, and photographs without compensation for publicity purposes to help promote the CMA and its programs. Raffle entrants and winners must be 21 years of age or older. Raffle contest void where prohibited.

Chicago Mikva Association reserves the right to provide a substitute prize of equivalent value. If Chicago Mikva Association is unable to contact the winner(s) within 28 days of the initial notification then the prize will be deemed unclaimed and a new winner(s) may be drawn, at random.

No substitution or cash equivalent of prizes is permitted. Prize draw dates, closing dates and times, and notification dates will be set out in the launch message and other accompanying content used to promote that particular prize draw and campaign. The prize will run during the dates specified until the specified closing date and time. All entries received after this point will not be entered into the raffle. Chicago Mikva Association reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants, and may require information to verify the eligibility of an entry. The Grand Prize may be withheld until Chicago Mikva Association is satisfied with the verification. The winner(s) of the raffle will be selected at random from all eligible entries that are received before the closing date and time. The winner(s) will be notified by Chicago Mikva Association via mail within ten (10) business days of the raffle.

Chicago Mikva Association reserves the right at any time and from time to time to, at its sole discretion, modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the raffle with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its reasonable control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud). The decision of Chicago Mikva Association in all matters relating to the prize draw and Grand Prize is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

The Chicago Mikva Association – Tickets for Tuition – 2019 raffle and these terms and conditions will be governed by Illinois law, and jurisdiction over any and all disputes shall be exclusive to the state and federal courts of Chicago, Illinois.

In no event will the Chicago Mikva Association be liable for any type of indirect, incidental or consequential damages, whether arising in contracts or in or, exceeding the amount paid by the raffle for his or her raffle ticket. The participant will indemnify and hold Chicago Mikva Association harmless against any loss, damage or expense incurred by Chicago Mivka Association by reason of any action or omission of the participant, his/her employees, agents, family, and guests.

Employees of The Chicago Mikva Association and the duly elected Board of Directors of Chicago Mikva Association are ineligible to participate in the raffle.
